Prep: For the perfect blow dry like J-Lo, build your foundation with clean hair. Shampoo with Oribe Magnificent Volume and follow with the line’s conditioner.

Style: Towel dry your hair and add Oribe Maximista Volume Spray from roots to the mid-length of your hair. Add Oribe Supershine Moisture cream from mid-length to ends.

Pro Tip: Flip your head over and get as much moisture out as possible, but do not dry your hair all the way at this point. It is important to leave moisture in the hair so that you can round brush it.

For J-Lo's hair length, you’ll want to use a medium to large round brush. Section the hair in a center part from font to back. Start blow drying in the back, brushing straight down, then brushing the sides back off the face. There is a light 70s feel to this blow dry. It’s important to wait for the heat in the hair to cool down before taking out the brush. Twisting the brush out will add a lot more body to the overall look.

Finish: Flip your head over again and spray all over with the Oribe Apre Beach Texture Spray.

Makeup

Tutorial by Melanie Mills, Emmy-winning makeup artist and creator of Gleam by Melanie Mills:

Jennifer Lopez is rocking one of my favorite smoky sultry makeup looks, where her skin is flawless and finished to velvet perfection.

Start with great skincare. My recommendation is a hydrating serum like Skinceuticals Serum 10 AOX, followed by a nice Vitamin C moisturizer such as Eraclea Day Lotion. Use some eye cream too. Whatever your skincare preference, it is important to make sure you have a hydrated and prepped “canvas” to work a little magic.

Jennifer’s classic, clean smoky eye is achieved with a building of products, so let’s begin first with the brow, which is super important -- the brows are a frame for the eyes!

Brush out your eyebrows and use a neutral shade that works for your coloring of brow color. You can use powder or a pencil. My favorites are the 'Lingering' brow pencil by M.A.C. and the Anastasia Brow Kit that comes with brow wax and a few shades to custom match. Always work the color from the top of the brow, elevating the line of your brow naturally -- never fill in from underneath first. Use feather strokes in the direction the hair grows, and never extend the line of the brow too far out. Stencils are amazing for those unsure of their free hand. Anastasia Brow Kits have several styles of arch you can play with too.

Use a good concealer like Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage to color correct prior to foundation. Apply with a concealer brush and make sure your under eye area is well covered.

Pro tip: Use a lightweight foundation like Kevyn Aucoin Dew Drop Powder Foundation in a lighter shade to cover around your eyes and upper brow. Apply it in a sideways “V” pattern so your entire eye cage area is highlighted first before your foundation application. It creates a more dramatic yet natural backdrop for the eye makeup.

Jennifer Lopez uses Gleam Body Radiance for her face and body. Her shade of Gleam mixed into her foundation is a touch of both Rose Gold and Bronze Gold. You can do a 1 to 3 ratio of Gleam to liquid makeup to achieve this lit from within look. This is a key step; a flat matte foundation will not do the trick, you have to pump it up with a touch of Gleam.

Use a foundation brush (FACE atelier’s foundation brush is one of my favorites) to smash the product together and apply from the nose outward in angles downward light strokes, making sure to blend and cover the face, except directly under the eyes. To get a perfect finish, use a pink Beauty Blender sponge (soaked in hot water then squeezed out completely) to gently blend. The Beauty Blender is the best makeup sponge on the market, hands down.

Your cheek and eye palette will be a nude and neutral one, highlighted with bronze elements. On cheeks, make sure you use something soft like Cargo Matte Bronzer or Dior Bronze 'Original Tan' Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder to contour the face. You can even finish your eye makeup once applied brushing a light application of this bronzer on the outer upper brow to pull the colors together even more.

For eyes, use a soft pearl eyeshadow like Girlactik’s ‘Glamour’ or Laura Mercier Sateen eyeshadow in 'Baroque.' Blend around the inner corners of your eyes to widen and pop open the eye. Then take a bronze brown shadow like Hard Candy’s Eye Def in ‘Ditch’ or Bobbi Brown 'Bronze Tortoiseshell' Eye Palette (use a bronze brown in the kit) and apply it all over lid toward the outer corner of your eye in an upward and outward “V” shape.

Take a matte brown shadow and accentuate outside the “V” for depth. Blend more of the bronze shadow under the eye with a precise liner brush to keep it tight under the lash line, then follow with the matte brown under the outer rim of your eye.

Remember, you are carefully building layers of product on the eye to create this smoky depth. Make sure to take a cream brown eyeliner like Chanel ‘Brun-Teak,’ M.A.C. ‘Brownborder’ Technakohl Liner, Urban Decay ‘Corrupt’ 24/7 Liner or Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes liner pencil in ‘Pearly Brown 21’ and line just under the outer corner of your eye.

On the upper lashes, apply M.A.C. Gel liner in ‘Black Track’ using a very thin brush. Finish with lots of mascara like DiorShow ‘Black’ on your top and bottom lashes.

The finishing touch for getting the lashy big eye look that J-Lo always wears is a full strip of lashes, like Ardell ‘117’ applied with Duo’s Dark Adhesive. Then, even more mascara.

Use a good matte bone-colored pencil on the eye waterline. For a fine line, sharpen the tip and draw a line inside the lower eyelid, close to the lash line. Press gently on the skin below your eye to bring the lid forward, and apply with care. For longer wear and richer color, apply more than once. This bone shade of eyeliner will wake up your looks and add a pop to your eyes. It’s tricky at first -- but lining the inside of the upper lid gives even greater eye-widening effect.

Lips should be lined with a matte nude pencil such as T. LeClerc 'Plaisir' Lip Pencil or M.A.C. ‘Spice’ topped with a creamy nude lipstick like Nars ‘Barbarella,’ NARS ‘Honolulu Honey’ lipstick, Benefit's Silky Finish Lipstick in ‘Skinny Dip’ or YSL Rouge Volupte in ‘Nude Beige.’ Add a glaze of Gleam Lip Radiance in ‘Naked’ to finish this sexy smoldering look.

Caliente!

Style

Style tips by Steven "Cojo" Cojocaru, Style Expert for T.J.Maxx and Marshalls:

Jennifer Lopez is one of the most fabulous and stylish celebrities in Hollywood – and has been refining her specific brand of urban glam since she first caught our attention in Selena.

Never one to shy away from experimentation (hello – who could EVER forget that famous Versace dress?), this Glamour cover is a perfect illustration of how Lopez can give even classic pieces a bit of edge, but still keep the overall look clean and fun. And the best part is, it’s not hard to recreate!

Here are some easy tips for achieving this look by shopping at T.J.Maxx and Marshalls, where you can find the same designer pieces you see in these high-end magazines and that I see on celebrities on the red carpet, but up to 60 percent less. And you know Jenny from the Block would appreciate that!

Experiment with fabrics and textures. Layer a simple tank with a dressier silk top (it doesn’t have to be a faux bikini top like J-Lo has here), to add a bold, sexy twist to an otherwise basic tee.

Go for the menswear-inspired style that is so hot this season. With a pinstriped pant or skirt in a navy or black, similar to the one Lopez has on in the cover, you add a touch of sophistication to any look. T.J.Maxx & Marshalls receives more than 10,000 items per week – so you can always go back to pick up another piece to keep rotating into your wardrobe.

Go for a single statement piece, such as chain-link necklace, bracelet or broach. It’s all about topping your outfit off with something simple and tasteful. T.J.Maxx’s jewelry counter is full of great, classic pieces that won’t leave your wallet empty.

Though we can’t see it in this photo, a great pair of shoes ties everything together. Because you want the focus here to remain on your top half, finish this look with a pair of basic heels or pumps in a nude or navy. This lets the outfit shine while also keeping the sophistication of the overall look.
