John Baird, Blue Nile's "Diamond Guy" in Seattle, Washington says a few insider tips can put you in control of the diamond shopping process, and save big on the perfect pair of diamond earrings when you can. Diamond prices have decreased approximately 10 percent in recent months, making this a great time to buy.

  • Avoid overpaying by hundreds when you get one carat diamonds.
  • Choosing a fancy-shape diamond (non-round) can save up to 40 percent.
  • Utilize Mobile Apps for your iPhone that let you comparison shop on the spot.
  • Skip the "Invisibility Trap" which pressures you to pay for diamond attributes no one can see.
  • Use your negotiating tactics - jewelers hate that!

Clothing

Start with a white Coco Camisole from miel sisters in an ultra-soft microfiber. It has a shelf bra with center stitching to prevent "uni-boob."

Makeup

Tutorial provided by makeup artist and beauty expert Genn Shaughnessy:

Sarah has a very natural complexion in this image, but her eyes are a wee bit more dramatic. I'm a big fan of always doing the eyes first, it's so much easier to clean up the mess eyeshadows make underneath the eyes. Especially when you're doing a black liner.

Apply a black or dark brown eyeshadow with an eyeliner brush, then smudge it with a pencil brush or cotton swab if you don't have one. Apply a light, thin layer underneath your lash line, then smudge.

Clean up the mess with a face wipe or makeup remover and cotton pad. My favorite mascara is L'oreal Voluminous in Carbon Black. It gives thick, long and dark lashes and is sexy at it's $9 price point. Brows are lightly penciled in their natural shape. I love It Cosmetics Brow Liner.

For that healthy glow, use a little Laura Mercier illuminating face lotion (or try Gleam by Melanie Mills). Spread it in a thin layer all over your face, followed by a translucent or light face powder like NYX Photogenic Grinding Powder. Lightly add blush to the apples ofthe cheeks.

Product Spotlight

The issue of Health magazine with Sarah Michelle Gellar on its cover featured a non-prescription eyelash growth stimulator called Cilea Lash on the beauty Health hot list for fall. According to its manufacturer, Cilea Lash works in as little as two to six weeks to achieve luscious lashes. You can get it without a prescription. You apply it like a liquid eyeliner and it dries almost instantly, to be as gentle on the eyes as possible. The product's VP of Develoment is Vicki Gunvalson, an original housewife on The Real Housewives of Orange County.

Hair

Tutorial by hairstylist and owner of MHX Beauty Bar in Los Angeles, Mecai Adeola:

Prep: Shampoo and condition your hair with your favorite product.

Style: For incredible shine and protection, apply a few drops of Mizani's Supreme Oil when you blow dry to lock out humidity and offer frizz control, a plus for all hair types . You can choose to put a part down the middle or the side whichever suits your face best.

Pro Tip: For achieving Sarah's wavy locks, I suggest using Mizani's Iron Curl to give you liexible hold and style support, ensuring great curl delinition and thermal protection. Rub a small amount through your hair and begin to wrap small sections in a spiral motion around a 1" or 1 1/2" curling iron or wand. Make sure that the tip of the iron is facing downward as you hold the for about for about 10 seconds, or until curl is set. Then release and slowly slide the iron out in an upward motion.

Finish: Once you have created waves all over, begin to separate and finger style them. Be sure to sweep portions of the sides to the back securing, them with a barrette or stylish bobby pins. And there you have it, a sleek, shiny look with beautiful waves just like Sarah Michelle Gellar.
