Old Brooklyn Cheese Co.


March can't arrive soon enough. With it comes the promise of rising temperatures, St. Patrick's Day celebrations and the unveiling of Teffenhard, the first cheese to be aged in the caves of Old Brooklyn Cheese Co.

Working alongside chef-owner Michael Januska is Angie Balbo behind the register who also happens to be a professional photographer and his congenial bride-to-be, and at the counter, Morgan Cushing - a cheese monger who brings nearly half a decade of experience from the cheese department at Heinen's.

Januska aimed to build a place where cheese lovers could convene and learn, and I can attest he's hit the mark.

Tricia's Tip: Have a hunk of cheese smoked before your eyes or pull up a chair and enjoy a fromage and charcuterie plate with an Old City Soda.
